Happy birthday, Zack!

It was Zack's birthday yesterday and we had a fun day, celebrating as a family. Aiden helped me wrap Zack's gift and really enjoyed opening it up again. Such a helpful brother! We blew out candles, over and over again, ate ice cream and played in the sprinklers.

Walking!

Zack reached an exciting milestone this past week - he started to walk on 21 July. He has been standing and giving one step for about two weeks, but on Tuesday he took 6 steps, stopped and walked another 3 steps! He definitely still prefers crawling but it's fun to see his confidence growing each day. With summer in full swing, we are having fun in the pool and at the water parks. Aiden is turning into a real little fish and loves to dive in the water and is doing well with doggie paddle.

Away with the wild hair!

Daddy decided that enough is enough with wild hair and gave Zack his first haircut today. Compared to Aiden, where a hair cut always includes a bribe with a Nascar car...this was quick and easy. I think he looks a little bit older but just as handsome as ever!

Water park fun

We discovered a water park close to our house and we go about every second day, it is so much fun. It has a big waterfall and this little creek, where you can float stuff down stream. And the highlight for Aiden is all the boulders he can climb on and of course, jump off!

Daddy does Half Dome

Last weekend I took a break from the kids and got to spend a memorable weekend with 8 other thirty-something guys in Yosemite. We camped at Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley and hiked from the valley floor up to Half dome and back in a single day - 12 1/2 hours! Half Dome is known as Yosemite's "most demanding day hike", and I wholeheartedly agree. The funnest part of the hike are the infamous Half Dome cables that offer assistance with the last 400 feet. Fortunately nobody got seriously hurt, although we all felt our age the next day. I rank this hike up there with the Otter Trail and Table Mountain in South Africa... absolutely worth doing! There are some more photos in my Facebook album.
